Ashish is a seasoned disputes lawyer with extensive experience handling commercial disputes, including contractual disagreements, shareholder conflicts, and corporate insolvency matters. He regularly appears before Indian courts and tribunals, including the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, and the NCLT. His practice spans arbitration, litigation, white collar defense and investigations, and insolvency and restructuring.

In addition to his litigation practice, Ashish advises on and conducts both domestic and international arbitrations under major institutional rules including the ICC, SIAC, and DIAC. His academic background, an LLB from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University (2016, an MSc in Management and Strategy from the London School of Economics (2012), and a BA Hons in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University (2016), gives him a broader commercial perspective on disputes.

Ashish trained under a Senior Advocate in New Delhi focused on construction and infrastructure disputes, and later spent four years in the disputes practice of a leading Indian law firm. He has been enrolled with the Bar Council of India since 2016.

His representative work includes advising the manager of an Indian REIT in an arbitration over the exercise of pre-emptive rights, under SIAC rules seated in Mumbai, and advising an HNI in a family settlement dispute involving real estate, energy, and hotel businesses, in an ad hoc arbitration seated in Delhi. He advised and represented Emaar Properties in an ICC arbitration against a former joint venture partner concerning a demerger, with claims exceeding USD 1 billion, and advised AB InBev in arbitration proceedings arising from a service and brewing agreement. On the insolvency side, he advised the Emaar group in NCLT proceedings concerning shareholder oppression and mismanagement, and represented Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority before the NCLT and the Supreme Court in the insolvency of Jaypee Infratech Limited.
